The 13-year-old who lived in Little Village, a Mexican American enclave in Chicago, ran from police in the wee hours of March 29 as they responded to a ShotSpotter gun-detection alert. Police body-camera footage released last week showed Adam appearing to drop a gun and putting his hands up before Officer Eric Stillman shot him once in the chest.
