For a few years, Sun-Times editors talked about creating a Sunday analysis section that would rival any typical newspaper Op/Ed section. We got the opportunity to incubate the idea during my tenure as Red Streak editor. Once launched in the Sunday Sun-Times, I wrote frequently for the section and served as backup editor in addition to my other duties running the Features department and the library, which involved negotiating contracts, facilitating book development, and protecting the newspaper’s intellectual capital, such as its vast photo archive.
